Dear supporters,
We want to extend you a very big thank you for standing with us in the past year.
On January 3rd we left our home to embark on an adventure of a life time: a 9 month ministry trip around Australia. It would have been nice if it was all pre-arranged and pre-financed, but God’s ways are different from ours! Instead our trip was a giant step into the unknown: where would we speak, what churches could we contact, how will the finances come in? At times our prayer was “give us this day our daily petrol”!
Yet the Lord sustained us each step of the way, opening up doors to local congregations and giving us miraculous favour to complete our 9 month, 28’816km long journey with our 3 kids and caravan in tow!
While on our big lap of Australia, we booked our trip to NZ for 10 weeks of ministry, with no accommodation and no speaking engagements lined up. All we had was a certainty in our hearts that this was God’s will for us – and if no meetings opened up, we would be having a 10 week holiday in beautiful NZ!
With amazing help from a few Kiwi supporters, we ended up having 24 meetings across NZ, and were hosted wonderfully in private homes by generous hosts across the nation.
Getting ready to head back to Australia, we were feeling quite weary and hadn’t been able to give the Christmas break much thought. It looked like we were going to come back to Australia empty handed, with the few limited remaining funds to be used on a caravan park for the holiday season. Not much of a Christmas!
Yet the Lord surprised us and undertook again – with only two days notice, we were offered to housesit for the holidays. The house belonging to a family with young kids suits our needs perfectly and was available for the exact time we needed, from the very first day of our time back on the Gold Coast. The savings from this, along with some unexpected funds in another bank account, was the Lord’s way of providing for us yet again!
He has been so faithful in this year that has been. We look forward to catching up on some rest before we hit the road again early next year.
