Did the prophetic meaning of Hebrew year 5786 / 2026 actually come to pass? And could one of the most unusual features of the Hebrew letter Vav (ו) help explain why so many people have found themselves revisiting their past this year?
In this teaching, Ps Enoch Lavender looks back at the prophetic meaning of 5786 / 2026 through the Jewish and Messianic context of the Hebrew letter Vav (ו). Rather than simply making another prediction, we ask a much more personal question: Did the predictions for 5786 actually happen—and did they happen in your life?
The number 6 is represented by the Hebrew letter Vav. In this teaching, we explore how Vav can picture connection—particularly the connection between heaven and earth—and how, from a Messianic perspective, this can point us toward Yeshua (Jesus) the Messiah. But Vav also has a fascinating grammatical function in Biblical Hebrew. In certain constructions, it can transform how a verb relates to time, taking what we might expect as future and presenting it as past, or vice versa.
This led to a striking theme for Hebrew year 5786: the past being revisited in the present.
In this video, Enoch shares his own deeply personal experience of travelling Australia with his wife and children—and unexpectedly finding himself facing circumstances remarkably similar to those his own family experienced approximately 35 years earlier. Yet instead of the past simply repeating itself, this became an opportunity for repentance, reconciliation, healing and redemption. And he wasn’t the only one. You’ll hear several stories of people who, during 5786 / 2026, found old family patterns, wounds and circumstances unexpectedly resurfacing—including generational patterns affecting marriages, family relationships, grief and painful experiences from childhood.
Why would God allow the past to revisit us? Perhaps the purpose isn’t simply to repeat the past. Perhaps God can bring us back to an old battleground so that, through Jesus the Messiah, the outcome can be different this time.

Ps Enoch Lavender was born in Australia, raised in Norway, spent time living in China and is now based on the Gold Coast of Australia. He has been studying Hebrew and the Jewish roots of our faith for the past decade, and has a keen interest in the Middle East from a Bible prophecy perspective.
