A View from the Top End

We are at the tail end of 2 months in the Northern end of Australia, and it certainly has been eye opening.
We have encountered many believers here who have left behind comfortable lives and sacrificed greatly to serve the Lord. Sitting down with them we hear their stories of God’s call, of miracles, provision and healings. They live very simple lives, and much of their sacrificial ministry goes without being recognised by the wider church.

The contrast couldn’t be greater to the glamour and glitz of some of our modern larger churches. These churches can offer an increased temptation for leaders to feed off the praises of their people, and for people to simply see church as a spectator sport.
The simplicity of ministry here in the Northern End is a much needed wake up call to the wider church of what life as a disciple of Jesus is all about – taking up our cross and following Him. Going where He sends us, obeying Him no matter the cost, and seeing Him work with us, confirming His Word with signs, wonders and miracles.

We want to thank all the churches and groups that have generously hosted us up north, we hope to see you again some time soon.
