Could your experiences with your earthly father be affecting the way you see God? Many Christians know in their minds that God is a loving Father, yet deep down they may struggle to trust His goodness, believe He will provide, receive His love, or approach Him confidently in prayer.
In this teaching, Ps Enoch Lavender explores how our childhood experiences and relationships can create an invisible “dark lens” through which we see God, ourselves and the world around us. Our experiences—particularly with our fathers and other important figures in our lives—can shape expectations we don’t even realise we carry. We may expect God to be distant, angry when we fail, reluctant to provide, or uninterested in our personal needs. But Jesus came to reveal the Father.

Ps Enoch Lavender was born in Australia, raised in Norway, spent time living in China and is now based on the Gold Coast of Australia. He has been studying Hebrew and the Jewish roots of our faith for the past decade, and has a keen interest in the Middle East from a Bible prophecy perspective.
