I hope I am wrong, but I have a sense of warning about the upcoming elections in Australia.
My family and I are currently on a 9 month ministry and intercessory trip around Australia.
It just happens that the very morning after the elections, we are scheduled to leave head into the great wilderness known as the Nullarbor as we trek towards Esperance and Perth.
I feel like our journey is prophetic, and that the church is also about to enter a time of the wilderness right after this election.
For my wife and I, the question is, are we ready for the journey ahead? Do we have the provisions we need for us and our family and are we prepared for the long journey ahead across the Nullarbor?
Similarly, is the church ready for what lies ahead? Are we ready for hard times spiritually, financially and even in terms of religious freedom in this nation?
Just as our journey across the wilderness is rapidly approaching, so the church must get ready quickly for what lies ahead.
Our journey ahead will be along Australia’s longest straight road (over 140kms long!). The destination after this long arduous journey is the city of Esperance – whose name means “Expectant Hope”.
I feel like there is hope ahead for the church on the other side of this wilderness. However we will have to hold our course staying on the straight road God has ahead of us. We can’t turn to the left or right away from God’s standard in this difficult season which is ahead.

I must admit to sharing your thoughts on a wilderness period ahead, Enoch, BUT we have our Hope in Hashem! 2 Timothy 1:7 says “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
He will see us through – personally, the believing church and a questing nation! Hallelujah!!

I agree we cannot look to the left or right, but need to stay focused on what the Lord is doing and saying to each of us no matter where we are located. I’m in the USA. we need to stay our place in Him, following His lead. That was is word to me just this morning. What a nice confirmation. Blessed be the name of the Lord.
Thank you Enoch. I’m involved with helping several of the smaller parties this election and on a polling booth Saturday. The division between all the smaller parties with similar aims and objectives is quite striking along with the personality differences. Very sad. Unity would make such a difference. The Daily Declaration (from Canberra Declaration) has beautifully covered the corruption within our politics of late and the unfair electoral advantage that the Greens were given un der Bill put through by Malcolm Turnbull just before he left office.
We are in a desperate plight. Some of us are getting more bold in our public declaration of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in getting the Gospel out- I’m in a team that goes into multi-cultural areas. It is thrilling to hear of hundreds youth baptisms lately.
I believe that the church is going to get a really rude wake up call when the hatred towards them is unleashed. Greed of the institutionalised Church has been exposed in that they have desired that the non Christian public fund their education- the resentment especially by atheists is very real. The problem that the rest of us has to bear this. There is going to be a real separation of the sheep from the goats. As my late father said when I was young (rephrasing) “Who is on the Lord’s side?’ or “which side are you on”? It is as clear as day to me that we are going to go through a purging of all that is worldly to get up to the standard of living Christianity that many in the Suffering Church have in the Third World today. May we seek the. Grace of God and learn to endure to the end with His Grace enabling. Blessings

It’s good there is someone young as your self that is raising his voice of warning may the Lords people get ready for the comming of the Lord.
We have been very blessed to have the older teachers over the years, their voices of warning to prepare us, the Lord is so merciful He never leaves us with out raising someone up to point us in the right direction we only need to listen and obey.

Thank you Pastor Enoch, that is truly a wrod in season…Praying for your journey and thanking God for your trip of intercession and teaching the word of God. ‘The Australian’ newspaper yesterday 30 April was able to alert readers of more ties to the CCP for some of the Green and TEAL MPs and immediately of course they ‘cut ties’ and one denied knwoignt eh CCP linked leader in Melbourne.
One of my prayers has been for God to expose all that needs exposing before the election and during BUT as you say we are heading for the journey through the desert, ahead and have many lessons to learn about who we can trust. Sadly, it seems most churches seem to not feel led to pray into the situation and have lost the call to intercede which Nehemiah and Daniel had. This means a misplaced trust occurs as it did in Germany WW2 where the church trusted in the wrong voices and leader. We have had 3 warships, courtesy China, following our IT cables under the sea and now have Russia planting a base in Indonesia and yet no alarm bells ringing from the Govt, though all communication could be interfered with at any time as they have cable cutter devices!
With prayer however, we can combat this way of thinking and pray God has mercy on Australia…Many others are quietly making intercession.
