The timing of Heaven’s blessing is so often tied to the timing of our obedience.
Have you ever been unwilling to obey the Lord?
Recently, I was struggling with a sense that God wanted me to give a larger amount to a ministry. But, I had plans for that money to go elsewhere, even godly plans. To be honest though, it was my fear of lack that was causing me not to want to obey.
A few days ago, I finally committed to obeying Him, and it was as if a heavy burden lifted off my shoulders.
As soon as I had made my commitment, there was a new sense of connection with God and a strong confidence that He would hear my prayers. At the time, our youngest daughter had been struggling with a bad cough for weeks and I had prayed and prayed for her with seemingly no change.
Now when I prayed, I knew with certainty that the answer would come. Could it be that the answer was waiting for me to obey?
Tonight begins the Feast of Pentecost. It was a time when in obedience to God, His people came bringing a sacrifice of thanksgiving before Him. It is no co-incidence that at this very time, His Spirit was poured out. Again, Heaven’s blessing is connected to our obedience, and the timing of the blessing is directly tied to the timing of our obedience.
