My wife and I were recently praying over a decision, and I really didn’t want to make the change. I had a number of reasons to hesitate, and I felt even saddened by the change, but deep down I think I knew that God wanted us to take this step.
As I prayed, the Lord showed me a picture of a turtle. I think He was telling me that I’ve been pretty slow moving!
I repented of my slowness there and then, and within a few minutes I got a text message from a pastor waiting for a flight at an airport in Vietnam. I hadn’t heard from him in months, and out of that conversation it became clear to me that God was wanting us to travel around Australia on a ministry trip, including to this pastor’s home church in the the Far North of Australia!
As I said before, big doors turn on small hinges, and in this case, my obedience in the smaller matter was the hinge that opened the door to reveal God’s next plans.
If you are being a bit turtl-ish today, may I urge you to repent and take the steps God is setting before you?
And as you do, you will be amazed by what He does!
