Redeeming November – Our Personal Story

For those of you who have been following us online, you will notice that November is a festive time for us with the birthdays of the twins as well as our wedding anniversary.
However there is more to the story.
In November 2011 I wrote down a prayer about my future wife, and placed it on my bedside table as regular focus of prayer. However, it was a long 6 years until I finally met the one the Lord had for me, and she immediately ticked off all the items on my prayer list.
As our contact blossomed, and as I prayed about the date of the wedding I got the date November the 11th, 2018. I hadn’t yet popped the big question, but was intrigued when I realised it would be 7 years since I wrote the prayer.
Yet there was more to be revealed.
Without knowing my side of the story and my plans for our wedding date, Sarah told me about November 2011 in her life and her sorrow over losing her dad in that month. He had been a real rock in her life, but God comforted her by giving her a promise for marriage.
I was amazed to realise that at the very time I started praying in Melbourne, God began speaking to my future wife 1500kms away on the Gold Coast and here we were almost 7 years later.
We got married across two separate wedding ceremonies (Gold Coast and Melbourne) in November 2018. It wasn’t long before Sarah was pregnant leading to the birth of our twins which just happened to be the following November!
So this month that once was dominated by the grief over Sarah’s dad – who was by the way a twin – now is full of the joy of our twin’s birthdays and our twin wedding anniversaries!
We have come to know the Lord as one who redeems time, which is exactly what November is now all about for us.
