Starting the Day Right

Starting the Day Right
On our travels, I am learning – the hard way – that I need to start the day right, every day.
A few days ago, we were leaving a caravan park and I was in a bit of a hurry as I got out of bed. I normally always stop to pray, but this day I had many things to do, and I thought it would be ok just to get going. I was wrong!
Everything was going well until we left the caravan park. Our plan was to fill up with fuel as we left, but the first petrol station we came to, was too narrow for us to enter with a caravan in tow.
The next petrol station was built up from its driveway on a very tight and unusual angle, again not suitable.
As we approached our third petrol station, it looked like we could finally fill up. We circled into position for the only diesel pump, only to find it was out of order!
What a frustrating start to the day. Time was ticking, we had a long drive ahead and still hadn’t got the basic step done of getting fuel.
I finally realised my mistake, asking the Lord to forgive me for not seeking Him first. We then prayed a simple reset prayer, to start the day afresh, this time with God’s help. Within moments we got to another petrol station that had everything we needed, and the rest of the day flowed smoothly.
Through mistakes like these, I am beginning to learn the lesson of starting the day well. Will you join me in putting the Lord first each day?
