Great insights! I had never heard about the Ark of the Covenant having 3 parts, with the wood being enclosed in the gold.

My own thoughts about the Ark was that it was a prototype of the Garden Tomb near Calvary. Our High Priest was laid on that rockcut Mercy Seat in His Linen shroud, where the Blood of the Lamb of God stained whatever it touched.

He is our Branch, like Aaron’s almond rod: cut off, but fruitful!
    (Isaiah 53)

He is our Bread of Life, broken so we can partake, “TAKE, EAT!”, better than that pot of manna.

He is The Word of Redemption. The stone tablets of the Commandments in the Ark had no redeeming power.

The two angels sat, one at the head and one at the foot, where the empty linen shroud testified to the message of the Love of God.
HE IS NOT HERE! HE IS RISEN! WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE

Exodus 35 speaks of all the people bringing all the things required for the temple. The ones with wisdom of knowledge in fabricating were to use there skills such as women who could sew, etc. I didn’t see anything relating to 3 boxes.
