The word for holiness in Hebrew – qadosh – is always spelt fully when describing God.
However, each and every time it is used to describe people in this book, it is written one letter short.
(qadsh instead of qadosh – but pronounced the same)
On our own and with our very best efforts, our holiness never measures up to God’s standard.
Thankfully, God became man through Jesus and made a way to connect and impart His perfect holiness to us. Through Him, as we confess our sins we are perfectly and completely made clean of our past.
We no longer have to carry the guilt and shame of our past – it is taken away! Let us therefore come boldly before His throne of grace today and give Him thanks for His holiness that has been imparted to us.
